This is Beatrice (but don’t let her hear you call her that, otherwise you’ll discover for yourself how strong she is). Beatr… Bea is eleven and she’s probably the cleverest person in these books. She’s feisty and likes answering questions. She’s also likes drawing, writing, arithmetic and is good at pretty much everything really. And as for trouble, we think it might be scared of Bea - it runs away from her normally. She doesn’t mind church; it just doesn’t make much sense to her.
This is Jack. Jack is ten and he's done with all things church, it’s boring and makes no sense. And when he asks questions (which he does a lot), he gets into trouble, even though he doesn’t mean to. In fact, trouble and Jack seem to be attracted to each other. We wonder if maybe he’s a kind of trouble magnet… Things he does like include ice cream, fishing with his dad, waffles, fireworks, hot dogs, cool cars, pizza, Lego and popcorn . He's unlikely to find any of that in Church though, isn't he?
This is Miss Turner, she’s one of the teachers in Jack and Bea’s Sunday School. Jack thinks that she's ANCIENT and that she really doesn’t like him and things only get worse when… well, you’ll have to read book 1 to find out why. She’s the daughter of the Pastor and she isn’t married yet. She does seem to get on well with Bob though…
This is Diana, she did all the drawings of us and all the illustrations in the books, which we all think are amazing. She likes to hike, dance, and play the piano. She also LOVES coffee. She grew up in America but made Scotland her home a few years ago. One of her favourite things to do is to ask really deep, or funny, or weird questions - maybe that's why she gets on so well with Jack & Bea...
